Background
I bring with me teaching experiences from local and international schools in the Philippines, and teaching practices from different curriculums: K-12, Cambridge IGCSE, and the International Baccalaureate. My experiences include: homeroom teacher in both primary and secondary levels; classroom teacher in different subject areas (Math, Science, English and History). All throughout I have striven to improve my teaching practice, hence I have attended seminar workshops here and abroad, pursued accreditation as an IGCSE Examiner for Cambridge International Examinations and the International Baccalaureate - Middle Years Programme Examiner, both for History.

PYP and Middle School Academic Coordinator
I joined Tokyo West International School as the PYP Coordinator, Middle School Academic Coordinator, and Individuals and Societies teacher. My role as PYP Coordinator focused on continuing the school's candidacy. This entailed reviewing and redeveloping the Programme of Inquiry, leading workshops, and developing individual and collaborative planning schedules for teachers. On a daily basis, I conducted formal and informal lesson observations, discussed and reflected on teaching strategies and approaches with teachers. As the Middle School Academic Coordinator, I was in-charge of all curricular matters for Grades 7-9. Concurrent to this, I also taught the Grades 7-9 Individuals and Societies classes of Middle School. This included developing and teaching the I&S curriculum focused on history, civics, culture, geography, and politics. |

Diploma Programme Coordinator
Since 2017, I have been the designated IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, (DPC) with the primary responsibility of setting up the Diploma Programme for first implementation in school year 2019 - 2020. As the DPC, I have drafted and written policies to support the implementation of the programme. Lead and support teachers in the creation of their respective curriculum (Language, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics and Visual Arts). Liase with the International Baccalaureate on all matters concerning programme implementation. Connect and establish linkages with other IB schools in the Philippine network. Lastly, lead student and parent orientations and inform them of changes and developments in the programme. CAS Coordinator Concurrent to my position as Diploma Coordinator, I am also its Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) Coordinator. I was formerly the head teacher for Grade 5 and I taught the following subjects: Literacy which includes Word Study and Grammar as well as Writer's Workshop; Social Studies, Science and Science Fair. During this time I assisted in the planning and implementation of the subjects. Presently I am the subject specialist in Grade 6 for Science and Word Study, where I plan and teach the subjects for two classes in the 6th grade. Concurrent to my position as subject specialist, I am also the Social Studies Lead Teacher for Inquiry in the school's secondary department. My responsibilities include: retooling the curriculum in the secondary years, meeting and planning inquiries with teachers under the department, and observing classes. Additionally, I was a member of the school's technology integration team. We worked with the school's provider for Apple products, SENCO Link, to discuss ways and methods to integrate technology in the classroom. In 2016, we also worked with a consultant to create Keys School Manila's iTunes U page and courses. |

Secondary Department - Humanities Teacher
I was in charge of the Humanities subject of the Secondary Department, as the head of the Humanities discipline one of my responsibilities include aligning the Cambridge Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE curriculum with the Department of Education's K-12 program. Moreover, I have also designed the curriculum frameworks and scope and sequences of Cambridge Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE. I was also the Grade 7 Homeroom teacher and the Humanities teacher of the school's secondary department (Grades 6-9). As the Humanities teacher, my duties and responsibilities include: designing unit and weekly lesson plans, construction of assessments, differentiating instruction for students with learning disabilities and needs, answering curricular concerns, and lastly, the ongoing development of the Humanities curriculum to meet the standards of both Cambridge and the state. Primary Years Programme Teacher Formerly the Head Grade 4 teacher and homeroom teacher. Under the IB-PYP program, I handle and teach English, Math and the Unit of Inquiry (UOI is an integrated History and Science subject based on the different transdisciplinary themes) subjects. As the Head Grade 4 teacher, I was in charge of creating, writing and implementing unit and weekly lesson plans for Language, Math and the Units of Inquiry. Secondly, I work collaboratively with the different subjects to come up with proper integration of the different subjects with UOI. Thirdly, as the Head Grade 4 teacher, my duties is to ensure that my students have been properly assessed and make use of these assessments to construct learning goals every term. In order to meet these goals, I have been able to design and implement activities that are differentiated and meet the current needs of my students. I have also experienced teaching students with special needs, I have worked closely with these students and have also designed behavioral goals with them. Extra-curricular activities During my stay at Domuschola, I have been the head moderator of the Art club, where one of our projects was designing an eco bag for one of the school's major activities. Secondly I was also the moderator of the school's history and film club, wherein my students were able to contribute movie and book reviews for the school's paper. Lastly, I served as the external editor for the school's news paper. |

High School - Social Science Department
As a faculty member of the Social Sciences Department in the High School level of La Salle Greenhills, I was in charge of handling four sections in the first year level. During my time in La Salle, my duties and responsibilities included: planning and designing the curriculum guide for the freshman year level; planning and facilitating the different activities for the department during its academic week; constructing and implementing daily lesson plans as well as quizzes, long tests and exams. Lastly, I also lectured about the communities of indigenous people in the Philippines: their challenges and their future, for the members of the High School community. |
